The MQF Level 6 in Business Management (Top-up) equips you with leadership skills to excel in people management and guide individuals, teams, and organisations to success through effective business practices. This programme prepares students to tackle real-world business challenges and make a significant impact in their chosen career path.
Learners will learn how to:
- Define and critically discuss the term business and the different types of organisations found in the business industry
- Understand the effects of the external environment on the overall success of a business
- Comply with employment laws and regulations when performing recruitment
- Examplify ways in which interpersonal skills lead to enhanced and better performing teams
- Develop the ability to make informed decisions that align with the long-term goals and objectives of a business
- Hone communication skills tailored to diverse stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and productivity
*1 ECTS is equivalent to 25 total hours of learning, inclusive of contact hours, supervised placement and practice hours, self-study hours, and assessment hours. Minimum 20% (5 hours for every ECTS) must be contact hours.
Mode of Assessment
The course shall be assessed through the use of an assignment based on the theoretical concepts presented during the lectures and ways of implementing said concepts and theories. These assessments will include group assignments, group presentations, individual assignments and individual presentations.
Target Audience
The BSc in Business Management (Top-up) is intended for those who are aged 21+ and aspire to work or are already working as team leaders or managers.

This module allows learners to understand the key concepts of human resource management. It will assess diverse aspects such as performance management, job design and recruitment, continuous professional development, employee recognition and rewards.

This module will allow learners to understand and further nurture their interpersonal skills which will enable them to go further successfully throughout their career. It will allow them to further their studies in management and to portray effective communication skills.

Financial Management in Business
This module aims at equipping learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to use key financial documents, figures and structures. It will also allow learners to to understand the role of effective financial management when it comes to the overall success of a business.

Research Methods in Business
This module equips learners with the required skills, knowledge and competences to be able to effectively prepare a research proposal and eventually a research project. It will allow them to learn in-depth the main methodologies implemented in data gathering, methods of analysing data, turning collected data into information and the best ways to present such findings.

Applicants should hold:
- To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold either: A Higher Diploma OR a Foundation Degree at MQF Level 5
- Non-Native English Speakers should be in possession of suitable English qualifications such as IELTS 5.5 or CEFR, or equivalent.
